This post is coming at you a little late, but it's a combination of feeling nostalgic and a life update. My sister and I are interning this summer hundreds of miles away from each other, and it's been about three months since we've seen each other (or since I've seen anyone in my fam for that matter). The countdown is on though because in just two short weeks, I'll be reunited and starting my senior year!! It's been so hard to be away from my family for this long, but it's just going to make seeing them that much sweeter, right?!
With that being said, I have been 21 for about two months so far. Update: 21 is super fun. Obviously. With my internship starting the next day, I didn't have a typical birthday. Nonetheless, I couldn't imagine a more perfect way to ring in 21.
First, we spent the week before our birthday in Boston visiting our sister. We had an early celebration with dinner at the Top of the Hub in the Prudential Tower. I highly recommend it. You get such a great view of the whole city and the best. cheeseboard. ever.
My parents got my sister and me Billy Joel concert tickets. The concert was in April, so we technically celebrated then too. On my actual birthday, we went to breaky at J. Christophers, then my sister and I had a little mini photoshoot. It's actually been sort of a tradition now for the past few years. We love getting coffee (free birthday drink!!) and then going downtown and taking pictures. It's so fun now because I can look back year-to-year. Remember 20? I feel like this was just yesterday!
Unfortunately, my other sister and brother weren't able to make it, but my parents and I went out to dinner that night. It doesn't stop there though. The next day, we went to a winery and had a quick wine tasting and tour. I'm definitely not one of those people who demands a "birthday week", but after my two-day celebration, I wouldn't be opposed to the idea ;)
Cheers to 21 years and 2 more weeks, Ashley!
