A picture-heavy post today, but to say we had a blast in South Carolina would be an understatement. The weather was gorgeous, it wasn't too crowded (especially for a holiday weekend), and our stay at The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island was beyond perfect. I'm going to highlight our dinner at The Ocean Room.
It is located on the top floor of the hotel and is absolutely gorgeous. Everything was so luxurious and classically done. The restaurant itself is has both Forbes 4 Star and AAA 4 Diamond ratings. Incredible is not even a strong enough word to describe the meal. We had a 4-course traditional meal, but we couldn't resist ordering three or four a la carte items for the table! Not to mention, the chef would bring us out a few small dishes in between meals to try. Not only was the food tasty, but the presentation rocked.
Now that our family is getting older, it gets harder and harder to get everyone together for dinner/vacation. I have really tried not to take these moments for granted because to me, there is nothing better than having family dinners.
My sister and I stopped outside before dinner to watch the sunset and take some photos. This dress is an old one (Kate Spade has a similar one), and I paired it with some nude pumps. I love the 3/4 sleeves because it can work in all seasons, but I really love the fit and flare 'structured' style. To me, it is just so much more flattering (and comfortable) than a skin-tight dress. It's just so easy to throw on. It runs a little big, so I would suggest sizing down. My sister wore a black tank and a beige skirt. Totally didn't plan it at all, but we ended up matching!
Such a fun dinner and trip! The Ocean Room is making the list every time I go to Kiawah, for sure.
Have a great day!
