Inspired by Stripes, the Sun, and the Sea

The tides of style change, but quintessential striped umbrellas will remain forever anchored in tradition. Here are places to stay, eat, drink, go, and things to buy that will make the everyday an adventure.

I love striped umbrellas. It reminds me of the beach, spring, and warm weather. With spring right around the corner, I'm doing a little inspiration/trip planning post. While I enjoy the cold from time to time, I miss having a tan and sun kissed blonde hair! I always turn to Pinterest to check out gorgeous shots of warm weather destinations.

Gurney's is a 90-year-old oceanfront resort in Montauk, Long Island that has become iconic for its insta-famous striped umbrellas and daybeds. The resort includes a perfectly designed coffee shop, a modern restaurant, a full-service beach and various activities from bonfires to yoga on the roof.

A relaxed and airy environment makes the Palm Court at The Colony Hotel pretty great for afternoon drinks and people watching.

Located in Alys beach off of Highway 30A in Florida, George's features fresh coastal food in a recycled coastal cottage.

Ahh, to dream... Nobody does striped umbrellas better than the beaches of France. Both public and private areas boast "postcard perfect" beach lined with striped umbrellas and chaise lounges. The city boasts 300 days of sunshine per year, so the odds are in your favor that you'll get the same type of weather.

Even when you are at home, you can have a little sunshine and island-life. These brass pineapple tumblers are so cute, and make getting through the cold just a little bit easier. I'll cheers a brass pineapple to that!
Where are your favorite warm-weather locales?
