Fourth of July

Skirt: Vineyard Vines // Shirt: Target // Sunglasses: J.Crew // Shoes: Sperry (similar)

Fourth of July is all about showing off your national pride and layering on the red, white and blue. Picking out an outfit is always fun, especially when you're extremely patriotic like I am. I love love love the color combo and I have to say, I wear it even when it's not Independence day. See? {Nauti Navy & Red} Perfect for a more casual approach to July 4th. Whether you spend the fourth on the lake, cooking out with family, or watching fireworks, there is always a good reason way to sport your red, white, and blue -- as long as you do it tastefully. PUH-LEASE don't wear cut-off denim shorts with an American flag crop top. It is so trashy. Call me crazy, but I have always been taught that it's disrespectful to wear the American flag on/as apparel. With that being said, it doesn't mean that you can't show your patriotism, I just think it should be classy and respectful. I mean, you don't HAVE to dress up, but I don't see why someone wouldn't want to partake in such festivities... Communist.

Now, it's so easy to get caught up in the parties and BBQ's that we forget that July 4th isn't all about hot dogs and fireworks. I think how my life would be without the small and basic freedoms that we all take for granted, and I am so thankful for all the men and women protecting those freedoms daily.

Have a fantastic Fourth of July and Stay Classy!
