Savannah Style

Sorry I've been a little MIA lately. I have been on a little vacay with the 'rents over the past week, but it's official. I belong on the coast. Something about the sea-salt and piers just get to me. I live not too far from Savannah, yet I've never been there! I was definitely missing out for 18 years. Savannah reminds me so much of Charleston, with it's beautiful beaches and quaint cafes. The perfect place to showcase style.

Even though this vacay was meant for college visits, it doesn't mean I didn't do a little sightseeing and beach walking. With the temperamental southeastern weather we've been having, it's been snowstorm after snowstorm so I was extremely excited to get out from in front of my fire place to the fresh air. Sun exposure is definitely overdue. I was in desperate need of some R&R. And laying on the beach by day and dressing up to go to fancy restaurants by night was the prefect way to de-stress.

The weather was absolutely perfect, about 70 degrees with a slight wind...nothing my spring wardrobe and a light jacket can't handle. The trip consisted of sight seeing in Savannah, golfing at Daufuski island, chilling on a private beach, visiting a couple colleges, shopping, and of course, eating at the best restaurants. Busy busy busy. Many outfits had to be planned to accommodate the itinerary, mostly nautical and classy yet functional for all the walking and sightseeing.

A little later I will post a guide to Savannah, with my recommendations of the best hotels, must-see attractions, restaurants, coffee shops and more! So stay tuned!

I don't know how I would begin to describe Savannah style. Definitely nautical. The harbor is absolutely darling. Yachts everywhere. It reminded me of the Kate Spade quote "I've never been a millionaire, but I know I'd just be darling at it". And I would be. With the historic cobblestone streets, you can't really have high heels on, no matter how cute they might be! It's just not functional. So the whole Savannah style is all about comfort fashion.

I wore this outfit sightseeing around downtown historic Savannah. Comfy and casual for a stroll in their many parks, and I of course had to pick up some coffee!

For the nightlife, the Bohemian had a cute little roof-top bar. Great view of the city lights at night as well as the harbor! The fire was also a nice touch when the wind picked up. Perfect place to grab some drinks with the girls.

A couple days later after all of the Savannah sights, we headed to Daufuski Island. It was so quite and peaceful. The only way you can get there is by a 30 minute boat ride. How cool is that? We stayed at Bloody Point and had the whole beach to ourselves. This is what I imagine heaven looking like. There was also a dock that made for an ideal backdrop!

And last but not least, we couldn't leave Savannah without hitting up the Lilly Pulitzer Store! It was a must. Lilly Pulitzer was actually #resorthopping in Savannah two days before we got there. We just missed them! So sad. But we did visit Palm Avenue and oh my gosh. I fell in love. I wanted EVERYTHING in the store. I'm pretty sure I was drooling. But anyways, here are a few pics of the many outfits I tried on for who knows how long!

And there you have it! My week in Savannah. I'll be posting shortly about the must-see places if you're ever  in Savannah. Get a few girls together and head down for a long-weekend. You won't regret it! The perfect place to put on your Lilly dress and strut it down the streets!

What would you wear?

Stay Classy!
