The first week of Christmas break was really busy packing and cruising and such, but the second week was lazy and laid back. Don't get me wrong, as much as I like not having school, I'm ready to get back to the grind. However, when this cold front came in and school was cancelled, I decided I wasn't going to waste it. As much as I wanted to climb back into bed with a cup of tea and watch Gossip Girl all day, I decided to be productive. The morning consisted of college apps and poetry reading. And after that, I was on a roll and decided to not waste the day away sitting inside. For the first time in what feels like forever, I got dressed and went out to run some errands with the girls, aka, my sisters. We went to lunch, Starbucks and the outlet mall. Typical girls day.
Winter is my favorite clothing season. Scarves, boots, and peacoats, oh my! But with the weather being about 8 degrees, it's hard to put outfits together that are warm enough for withstand the usual winter weather. I know I can't be the only person trying to get used to these below freezing temperatures all over the countries. My wardrobe consists of exactly 8 pieces worthy of wearing in this weather, so it was kind of difficult finding fashionable and functional outfits.
Boots: Dress Up Boutique | Vest: Quilted Barn Vest | Watch: NY & Co. | Rings: Charming Charlie | Nail polish: OPI Cajun Shrimp Scarf: Forever 21
My sister also looked super cute, and she's a lot more photogenic than I am!
Hope it gives you some ideas on looks that are both fashionable and functional in the cold weather. You don't have to sacrifice warmth for style or vice versa! Pair a peacoat with a plaid infinity scarf and a pair of boots, and voila! It will be so cold that you won't want to take off your peacoat, so wear something warm underneath and use the peacoat as your main item.
